Blackout curtains for a private school's dormitories
More than 25 pairs of patterned blackout curtains for a dormitory building
Sectors · Education
Bursars and estates managers have trusted us with their buildings for decades — from blackout in a listed hall to child-safe classroom blinds fitted in the half-term window. We know how schools buy, when schools want work done, and what governors ask about afterwards.
Child safety
Child safety is paramount in any blind installation. Wherever possible we specify systems that are safe by design — crank-handle and electrically operated rollers, wand-operated verticals and pleated blinds — and where cords or chains are unavoidable, every installation is fitted with the appropriate child-safety device.
SEN settings
SEN schools and residential colleges often need the same load-release systems as mental health environments — blinds and curtain tracks that separate from their brackets under excess pressure, leaving no point of ligature. We bring that competence from our healthcare work, specified room by room against your risk assessments.
Scheduling
Half-terms, holidays, exam-free weeks — we plan installations around the school calendar as a matter of course, and our installers work cleanly and considerately when term-time work is unavoidable.
Budgets
Because we manufacture in-house, we can refurbish what others would replace: re-covering rollers, repairing mechanisms, and upgrading existing blinds to current child-safety compliance. For budget-constrained estates it's often the difference between doing one building and doing them all.
On site, you'll notice
Your blinds are fitted by our own installers — never subcontractors. The reputation on the job is ours, personally.
We work quietly around staff, pupils and patients in fully furnished, occupied rooms — and follow your sign-in and safety procedures without being chased.
Surfaces covered before a drill comes out; furniture moved carefully and put back exactly where it was.
Packaging, offcuts and dust leave with us. The room goes straight back to work.
